The Henly Homecoming was first planned by Mrs. Leonard Twidwell, Mrs. Tom Beauchamp and Mrs. Lindsey Twidwell. 

On December 31, 1956, during a wedding shower for John and Carolyn McCarty hosted by Mrs. Lindsey Twidwell and Mrs. W. G. Gravenor at the Twidwell's home, the  Henly Homecoming was born.

The first Homecoming was held the following year on Father's Day, June 16, 1957, and has continued yearly since that time.  In 2002, the date of the yearly event was changed to the first Saturday in May.

The annual Homecoming was held at the Twidwell Ranch until 1960, then moved to the C.O. McCarty Ranch until 1979.  In 1980, the event moved to the new Henly Volunteer Fire Department building where it remained until 2003.  Since then the Homecoming has been held on the Henly Church Grounds.

"MISS FAYE'S"
 BANANA PUDDING

Co-founder of the Homecoming, Mrs. Leonard "Faye" Twidwell, attended every homecoming from 1957-1997, until her passing.

Her famous banana pudding was a much anticipated treat every year.   At the 37th Homecoming,  'Miss Faye' attached the following, noting the ingredients she had used over the years:
